Dr. Carol Ann Washburn, age 69, of Heber Springs, Arkansas peacefully died on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, Carol was a native of Grandfield, Oklahoma. She was an Oklahoma State University graduate where she received her doctor's degree in Communication and Recreation.
After teaching speech and coaching girl's basketball at Stillwater High School in Oklahoma, she moved to Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California where she opened one of the first ropes courses in America. Dr. Washburn later moved to Hanalei, Kauai, Hawaii, where she excelled as a motivational speaker and continued her work with corporate clients. She always had a positive attitude.
Upon retirement, she moved to Heber Springs to be with her family and genuinely loved all.Carol Ann attended New Life Church and was a member of Grandfield Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Faye and Wayne Washburn, and her brother Gary Washburn. She is survived by her sister, Sharon Williams (Harold Williams) of Heber Springs and her brother, Bill Washburn of Shawnee, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her neices and nephews, Kimberly Williams (Safet Sinanovic), Michelle Finch (Clint Finch), Amber Williams, Mark Washburn, and Kyle Washburn (Rebecca Washburn).

A private memorial service will be held to celebrate Carol's life at a later date.
