Brenda Jean (Gay) Womack, age 72, of Drasco, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Unity Health Medical Center in Searcy, Arkansas. She was born April 28, 1950 in Camden, Arkansas to the late James Willis Gay and Ruby Jewel McFadden Gay. She married her husband, Jim Womack, on October 28, 1967. She was a member of Clinton Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Brenda was a graduate of Harmony Grove High School, Camden, AR.  She decided to go to college after raising four children and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Henderson State University in 1996 at age of 46.  She taught Special Education for almost 20 years before retiring, with 15 years as a teacher at West Side Public School in Greers Ferry, AR.

Brenda loved spending time with her family.  She loved to fish on Greer’s Ferry Lake.  She frequently went to Mountain View to listen to the music on the square.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Ruby Gay

Brenda is survived by her husband, Jim Womack; sons, Jimmy Womack (Tammy) of Bee Branch, Arkansas, and Clint Womack of Drasco, Arkansas; daughters, DeAnne Hartzell (James) of Bee Branch, Arkansas, and Christy Foster (Chris) of Bentonville, Arkansas; brother, Dwayne Gay (Brenda) of Damascus, Arkansas; and grandchildren, Ross, Ryan, and Anna Womack, Summer and Cade Foster, Jamie, Jared, Jacob, and Adrienne Hartzell, Emily and Zac Thomas, and Heather Olson; as well as many extended family members and friends. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

The funeral service is 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at the Clinton Seventh-day Adventist Church, 125 Skyline Drive (Hwy 65N), Clinton, AR 72031.

Pallbearers are Brenda’s 6 grandsons: Ross, Ryan, Cade, Jamie, Jared, and Jacob
