Heber Springs - Betty Meek Hill, retired business woman, died January 28, 2026. Betty left this world for a better place. She was born October 14, 1930 in Marvell, Arkansas to Evie L. Van Meter Meek and Francis “Ted” Meek who preceded her in death. Betty’s family roots were deep in Phillips County, Arkansas. Her great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Obediah Van Meter and Mr. and Mrs. Drewy Burns were among the earliest settlers in Arkansas. 

Betty was a graduate of Marvell High School and attended Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA) in Conway. She was a member of St. Albert Catholic Church, past officer of the St. Albert Auxiliary, member of Newcomers Club, and Baptist Health Medical Center Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Musical Coterie and past officer of the Cosmos Club (GFWC) of Forrest City, Arkansas and a volunteer of Girl Scouts of America for many years. 

In 1948, Betty married Bryan Kenneth Hill, who preceded her in death in 2007, after 58 years of marriage. 

She is survived by a loving family; three children, Bryan Hill, Dr. Deborah Hill, and Greg Hill (Sallye); five grandchildren; Curt Hill, Van Hill (Payton), Dr. Christopher Hill (Kelley), Kenny Hill, and Dr. Kailey Wallace (Ryan); two great-grandsons, Christian Hill (Elysa), and Tristan Hill; and a beloved former daughter-in-law, Shelia Hill Woods (Robby). 

She will be remembered as a personal treasure to her family. She was deeply loved by her family and will always be an inspiration to them through the love she gave and the way she lived her life. Those who loved and knew Betty will miss her dearly. Her life revolved around family and friends. Happy times were spent sharing a good laugh with those she loved. In her last days she let it be known that she had a good life and felt the love of her family. 

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Albert Catholic Church at a date to be set in the spring. Her ashes will be interred at the church columbarium, a gathering will be held in the Parish Hall after the Mass for family and friends.
