Betty Lou Harris, age 89, of Wilburn, Arkansas, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024 in Baptist Health in Conway, Arkansas. She was born January 7, 1935 in Griffithville, Arkansas to the late Barney McCoy Newman and Lula Ethel Knupp Newman.
Betty enjoyed watching preaching on television and reading her Bible. She was a very generous person. She loved and was very protective of her family. She loved to have the grandkids over just to see them. She made everyone feel special and as if they were her favorite, however, everyone knows that Debbie Burrow was her favorite niece.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Eugene Harris; brother, Robert Newman, and sister, Bonnie May Newman and Ima Jean Hazelwood.
She is survived by three sons, Edward Eugene Harris of Wilburn, Arkansas, Michael David Harris (Linda) of Jessieville, Arkansas, and Ernest McCoy Harris (Beatrice) of Wilburn, Arkansas; three daughters, Sheila Diane of Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, Bonita Haskett (William) of Drasco, Arkansas, and Mary Kathleen Sturgeon (Steven) of Wilburn, Arkansas; brother, Edward McCoy Newman (Gene) of Mayflower, Arkansas; sister, Mary Dell (Henry) of Shannon Hills, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren that are too many to count; and two great-great-grandchildren. In all, her family stretched over 5 generations and she was loved and will be missed by all of them.
