Barbara Sue Lacy, age 83, of Ida, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023. Barbara was born March 27, 1940 in Eudora, Arkansas. She is the daughter of the late Harley Nichols and the late L.V. (Pevytoe) Nichols. She is also preceded in death by two of her brothers, Albert Stanley Nichols and William (Bill) Nichols.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Noel; their daughter, Renea Kerby and her husband, Chris of Ida; two grandsons, Caleb (Hayley) Payton and Cole Payton; two step granddaughters, Taylor Wiedower (Justin) of Quitman and Kristen Kerby (Jeremy) of Pangburn; two great-grandsons, Jaxon and Warren; four great-granddaughters, Kerby Kate, Whitlee Ann, Harlee and Emmersyn. She is also survived by a brother, Allen Nichols; and a sister, Carnell Garner, both of Eudora, Arkansas. Many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends were loved by this beautiful lady.
Barbara was a precious lady who loved and served her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a faithful and loving wife of Noel for 54 years. She was an amazing mother who did and would do anything for her daughter and grand ones. She loved to keep an immaculate home and yard for her family. Barbara loved working outdoors in her flowers. It seemed she had the greenest thumb ever. She could take things that seemed long gone and lovingly bring them back to life. She found that hard work outside brought peace to her soul. Her family and friends can only imagine the deeply rooted joy she is experiencing now with Jesus, her Creator, the creator of those beautiful flowers in the garden.
Visitation is 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Heber Springs Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM. The interment is at Antioch Cemetery in Drasco, Arkansas.
