Alvin Ray Bettis

Alvin Ray Bettis, born September 15, 1942, age 81 of Quitman, Arkansas died Friday, October 27, 2023 surrounded by his family. Alvin served his country with pride and retired as a SMSgt in the United States Air Force. He was an avid coin collector, die hard democrat, and great provider to his family. 

Alvin is survived by one daughter, Angela Kay Bettis and partner Diane Reynolds of Greenbrier; two sons, Jeffrey Ray Bettis and Steven Dale Bettis and his wife Shannon Bettis of Quitman, AR; one brother Charles Pat Bettis; ten grandchildren: LaShainea and Robert Pollander, Nykki and Ryan Allred, Kyle Bettis, Ryan and Alex Bettis, Cody and AmberRose Bettis, Faith Bettis and Shay Stroud, Mason Haley, Katelynn Haley, and Shelby Frazier and sixteen great-grandchildren: Zander Via and Brayleigh Allred, Grayson Pollander, Sebastian and Santiago Bettis, Atlas and Rooney and Juniper Bettis, Ocean Bettis, Kade and Rip Stroud, Liam and Andrew Haley, LuKain and Jonathan and Nayomi Frazier. 

Alvin is preceded in death by his wife Lillian “Rooney” Bettis, his parents Claudie Ray Bettis and Maxine Bettis. 

A graveside ceremony will be held November 3, 2023, beginning at 2 pm at Pearson Cemetery in Quitman,AR.
