Alva Green passed away on April 7, 2020 at the Waters of Mountain View. He was 90 years and 25 days of age. He was born March 13, 1930 to Francis M. Green and Mahala (Holiday) Green.
He is survived by one sister, Genell Brown of Alread; 4 nephews, Cletis, Ronnie, James, and John Davis; 5 nieces, Gloria Boyd, Barbara Vincent, Joan Davis, Charlie Watson, and Renita Brown; a special friend, Elzada Cooper; several great nephews and nieces, and a lot of friends and relatives.
Alva was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, LeaVotis Davis; 2 brothers, Dorlis Green, and an infant brother; nephews, Jerry Davis and Ricky Green; and ex-wife, Bonnie.
Alva worked in timber, painted houses, and danced at the folk center for many years. He loved going to the dances at the Folklore Society. He went to the Senior Center every day and enjoyed visiting with folks there.
Alva was in the army for 2 years in 1950 and 1951. He was in Okinawa for 1 year, and he was a cook and baker while there.
He requested no funeral service and was cremated. His ashes will be interred in Rorie Cemetery near Calico Rock, Arkansas.
Arrangements were under the direction of Heber Springs Funeral Home.
