Alene Louise Martin age 92, of Drasco, Arkansas, passed away March 4, 2020, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs, Arkansas. She was born July 5, 1927, in Hartman, Arkansas to the late George and Lela Strickland Linton. She had worked as a seamstress for a clothing manufacturer and was of the Baptist faith.
Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting and gardening. She was an excellent cook and especially known for her homemade rolls and dill pickles. She loved all of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Obie Martin; three brothers, Norman (Snake) Linton, Bill Linton and Jerry Linton.
Survivors include three daughters, Becky Milligan, of Drasco, Arkansas, Barbara Miller (Mark Schweighoefer) of Venice, Florida, and Patricia Martin of Madeira, Florida; one brother, Paul Linton (Shirley) of Alma, Arkansas; two sisters. Florene Ussery of Rockford, Illinois, and Georgia Johnson of Denton, Texas; three sisters-in-laws, Doris Linton of Alma, Arkansas, Caryl Linton, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas and Lucille Ferguson of Marston, Missouri; two grandchildren, Tammy Minnick (Sam) of Drasco, Arkansas and Tim Miller (Amy) of Phoenix, Arizona; six great-grandchildren, Jana Minnick, Jori Lawson (Lucas), Meghan Rotering (Chris), Marshal Miller, Marissa Miller and Maddie Miller; two great-great grandchildren, Georgia and Abigail Rotering and many friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Heber Springs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time on March 14th at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens in Heber Springs.
