Vernon D. Yoder

Vernon D. Yoder age 66 of Wilburn, Arkansas went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Born February 28, 1952 in LaGrange, Indiana he was the son of the late David S. and Ada Mast Yoder. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Heber Springs, Arkansas. He served as a volunteer Chaplain at the Arkansas Department of Correction Grimes Unit in Newport, Arkansas.

His hobbies were squirrel hunting and fishing. He loved and adored his family. His desire was for everyone to know Jesus. Knowing him was knowing that he was a Christian concerned about souls.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Yoder.

He is survived by his wife  Marie Miller Yoder whom he married October 6, 1976; two sons, Steven Yoder and wife Heather of Grifton, NC and Ryan Yoder and wife Brittney of Heber Springs, AR; three daughters, Angela of Missouri, Julia and husband Kevin of Drasco, AR, Melissa of Wilburn; six brothers, Melvin Yoder and wife Elsie of LaGrange, IN, LeRoy Yoder and wife Rosie of Illinois, Elmer Yoder and wife Irene of Indiana, Ernest Yoder and wife Freeda of Indiana, David Wayne Yoder and wife Mary Kathryn of Michigan and Daniel Yoder and wife Ruby of Indiana; three sisters, Susan Yoder and husband Melvin; Mary Alice Yoder and husband Danny and Esther Beechy and husband William; six grandchildren and many, many friends.

Visitation will be held 10:00 to 12:00 pm, Saturday, November 3, 2018 at First Assembly of God Church in Heber Springs with the funeral service following at 2:00 pm with Bro. Lee Brown, Eric Yarbrough and Brian Schlabach  officiating.  Interment will be in Magness Cemetery near Wilburn. Online Obituary: www.heberspringsfuneralhome.com
