Vernice Pharr Tucker, age 91 of Heber Springs passed away August 27, 2019. She was born in Star City, AR the daughter of Arthur Jack and Ivy Catherine Chambliss Pharr. She was married to Travis Levi Tucker for 67 years. Vernice and Travis lived many years in Pine Bluff and were long time members of South Side Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Travis; her parents and three siblings, C.L., Charles and Doug Pharr. Vernice is survived by a sister, Vernell Clay (James) and a brother, Robert Dale Pharr (Jean) as well as her children, Alan (Judy) of Heber Springs, Rodney (Debby) of Little Rock and Vicky Mast (Mike) of Anderson, SC. As well as 6 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild
Venice was retired from the Pine Bluff School District. Upon her retirement, she and Travis moved to Heber Springs in September, 1990. They moved their church membership to First Baptist Church where they were faithful members and enjoyed many friends there. They loved to go camping and enjoyed several trips to the Western States and several of their favorite spots here in Arkansas.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, at First Baptist Church in Heber Springs with the visitation beginning a 1:00 PM until service time. Service will be officiated by Brother Elwin Ollar and Dr. J.R. DeBusk.
Interment will be in Heber Springs Cemetery with arrangements by Heber Springs Funeral Home.
