Tim Dale Decker

Rev. Tim D. Decker (Retired) entered into the rest of his Lord on Dec. 7, 2019.  Born February 23, 1957 to Melvin D. Decker and Eva L. Decker he went on to marry Charlotte R. Decker and have two sons.  He was ordained as a General Baptist minister and pastored churches in Arkansas, Missouri and in Indiana and while doing so, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Theological Studies at Oakland City University.  He retired after 14 years from the University of Central Arkansas where he served as Project Manager.

Known for his sense of humor and dry sarcasm he would bring joy and laughter to all that he met.  He would be known in a crowded room from his deep, thundering laugh that would be contagious to all those around.

He insisted from his son’s faith, integrity and duty while teaching those in his sphere of influences the same.  He wasn’t afraid to stand for what he knew to be right, to have compassion on those who were in distress and defend those who couldn’t do so for themselves.  He insisted that those around him do the same and did his best to instill those same values in those that he taught.

He was welcomed into Glory by his Savior, Christ Jesus, his father Melvin D and mother Eva L Decker, his 1st wife of 35 yrs. and mother of his sons, Charlotte R. (Harlan) Decker.  Together they celebrate the fruits of faith in the love, mercy and grace of God through His Son Jesus Christ.

Tim is survived by his 2nd wife Cynthia S. (Parkinson) Decker, his 2 sons Jeremy and his wife Holly, Aaron and his wife Taiah. Four grandchildren Faith, Hanna, Aiden and Charlynn.  As well as his sister Linda Jacobs and brothers Jerry Shands, Ted Shands and Terry Decker with Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. He would encourage them all to run the race set before them with endurance and faith and will welcome them one day to the victory the he now enjoys.

Memorial Service will be held at Wilburn General Baptist Church on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 2pm. Please join the family in celebrating Tim’s life and eternal victory.
