Owen Grant West

Owen Grant West went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 9, 2018. He was born in Heber Springs Arkansas to Bob and Lucille West on April 19, 1960. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Renee;    daughter, Sara and  her husband Adam Carlton, grandson, Peyton Carlton; daughter, Rachel and husband Brad Green; parents, Bob and Lucille West; brother, Bruce West and best friend, Kenny Allen of Drasco.  He also leaves behind many other members of family and friends.

Grant loved working as a bulldozer operator for 38 years, and in his younger days he enjoyed bird hunting. He never missed a chance to deer hunt or fish with friends and always supported, loved, and cherished his family. He always loved camping every summer with his family. He taught his girls many life lessons through it all. He had the best time listening to music at the square in Mt. View or seeing the country with his wife.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Allen, Tom Helms, Derek Lawrence, Donny Walls, Joe David Stuart and Marty Grant.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bruce West, KD Smith, Jim Chastain, Ben West, Garrett Gilmore, Hayden Gilmore, Dillion Moore, Michael Wayne West, Adam Carlton, Brad Green, Grant’s Sunday School Class, Morgan Norton, Larry Davis, Hulan Spinks, Kevin Bullard, Roger Gilpin, Nate Cranford, Charlie Cashion, Bobbie Holland and Jason Holland.

Vistation is planned for Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Lone Star Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Church with Brother Bart Baker and Brother Rondal Richardson officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery near Draso, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers you may make donations to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the Shriners Children’s Hospital in his honor.
