Lawrence Ross Hearn, Jr. of Heber Springs passed away January 5, 2019 at his residence in Heber Springs, Arkansas surrounded by his family. He was 84 years old.
He was a deacon at Heber Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He served his Lord faithfully and loved his church family. He also was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War.
He was born on August 16, 1934 in Helena, Arkansas to Lawrence Ross Hearn, Sr. and Ada Irene Smith. He was the oldest of seven children.
He was preceded in death by his Dad, Mom, his brother’s Henry and Bobby; sister, “Bye Bye” Wilma and his daughter Pamela.
He married the love of his life Myrna on May 8th, 1954 and moved to Illinois. They raised two girls and spent 41 years there until he retired from Clorox after 35 years. They moved to his dream spot in Heber Springs where he was planning to fish for his remaining time. He did not do so because he was a worker and a socializer. He loved people and loved to talk.
He was a great husband, wonderful father, the best Paw Paw, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife Myrna; his daughter, Tracy (Don); brother, Richard (Linda); sisters, Edith, Dorthy (Murl); grandkids, Jovonna (Robyn), Tasha, Phillip (Penelope), Megan (Micah), Caity, Brent and Danielle. His beloved niece Theresa; many nieces and nephews and great-grandkids, Adallise, Annika, Phillip, Peter and Zeke.
A visitation will be held 3:00 to 5:00 pm, Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 at Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service starting immediately after at 5:00 pm on Wednesday with Brother Van Sanders officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Old Turner Cemetery near Marvell, Arkansas. Online Obituary: www.heberspringsfuneralhome.com
