John Joseph O'Neill

John Joseph O’Neill age 81 of Searcy passed away April 27, 2017 at Oakdale Nursing Home in Judsonia. Born November 14, 1935 in New York City, New York he was the son of the late John Patrick and Margaret Lynch O’Neill. He attended St. James Catholic Church in Searcy and was a US Army Veteran.

Mr. O’Neill worked as a freight traffic controller for American Airlines in New York and Dallas most of his working years.
His hobbies included reading, playing hand ball in his younger years. He also ran track in high school.

Mr. O’Neill was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Shipman O’Neill; one brother, Thomas Patrick O’Neill and a sister, Marian Virginia O’Neill.

He is survived by a sister, Eleanor Margaret O’Neill; step-son, Kip Snodgrass and wife Becky of Searcy and many friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, May 1, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church in Searcy.
