Gayle Garner Penter 72, a long-time resident of Gosnell, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at her home surrounded by the family she loved.
Gayle was born in Blytheville in 1946 to Hershel and Mae Garner, both of whom preceded her in death. She was a member of Gosnell Baptist Church and a career banker who retired from First National Bank in 2004. Retirement took her to Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas where she enjoyed life on Greer’s Ferry Lake.
Gayle’s passions were her unconditional love for her family, reading, decorating and watching Arkansas Razorbacks and Dallas Cowboys football.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Mike, one son Kyle (Sarah) of Vilonia, and her beloved sister La Jean Garner Brown (Jim) of Bryant. She also leaves behind one grandson, Logan Penter of Little Rock and as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice Home Care of Conway, AR or to the American Cancer Society.
Heber Springs Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 9:00 am, followed by services at the funeral chapel at 10:00 a.m. with Brad Johnson officiating. Graveside services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville, AR at 3:00 p.m. the same day with Eddie Clemons officiating.
