Evalyn V. Davis Stubbs, age 89, of Concord, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at her residence. Born December 25, 1929 in Drasco, Arkansas she was the daughter of the late Ben Franklin and Elizabeth Shook Davis. Evalyn was of the Baptist Faith.
Her hobbies included fishing, keeping her home and yard very clean, spending time with her kids and grandkids but most of all she loved to talk and visit. She never met a stranger and always had a story to tell. Her greatest joy was her family, you couldn’t come to her home without seeing their pictures on the wall. When you came to visit you would always be asked to come to the kitchen for something to eat.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Murl Stubbs; one son, Dorman Lee Stubbs; three brothers, Bill, Jake and Hoyt Davis; four sisters, Ather Webb, Lanelle McCutheon, Inez Goff and Estlee Endsley.
Survivors include one son, Ronald Stubbs (Pauline) of Concord, Arkansas; two daughters, Pat Stubbs Decker (Ricky) of Ida, Arkansas and Diane Stubbs Strain (Ray) of Concord, Arkansas; two sisters, Lavada Smith of Lepanto, Arkansas and Tresael Phillips of Benton Harbor, Indiana; six grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
A visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, January 11, 2019 at Heber Springs Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 12, 2019 with Brother Billy Henderson and Brother Samuel Wildmon officiating.
