Mr. Clarence Leon Bailey, age 90 of Harrison, Arkansas, formerly of Heber Springs, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019. He was born July 29, 1929 in Dodge City, Kansas to the late Roe and Opal Hadden Bailey. He was a US Army Korean War veteran serving from 1951- 1953. He was employed as a machinist with Cessna Aircraft until his retirement. He attended Cleburne County Baptist Church.
Mr. Bailey loved hunting and fishing, camping, woodworking, yard work, and gardening. He loved watching movies especially John Wayne westerns. He also enjoyed mechanic work and worked as a farmer before going into the military. His family said he was a good storyteller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Talley; a daughter, Carla Baldwin; and a brother, Vernon Bailey.
Survivors include his wife Billie Jean Nelson Bailey of Harrison, Arkansas; one daughter, Stacy Dungan (Eric) of Alpena, Arkansas; one sister, Vivian Sumpter of Mulvane, Kansas; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and many friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 -7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Heber Springs Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in South Crossroads Cemetery at Hopewell, Arkansas. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 64 of Heber Springs.
