Billy Imogene McVey

Billy “Gene” Imogene McVey age 92 of Greers Ferry passed away August 25, 2017 in Heber Springs. Born January 19, 1925 in Cleburne County she was the daughter of the late Bill Tom and Mary Murphree Birdsong. Gene was a homemaker and a member of West Side Baptist Church in Greers Ferry.

Mrs. McVey loved flowers, gardening and yardwork in general.

Gene was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Pat Edwin McVey; three brothers, Sidney and J.W. and Charlie Matt Birdsong; two sisters, Dewell Hooten and Irene Stark.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Edwin McVey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a brother, Oran Birdsong and wife Blanche of Greers Ferry and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Gary Xiques officiating. A visitation will be from 12:00 noon to service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Arlington Gardens Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
