Winfred (Fud) Owens, age 83, of Heber Springs, Arkansas passed away October 23, 2010 at Baptist Health Center . Born July 23, 1927 in Havana, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Willie and Betty (Moore) Owens. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Heber Springs and a US Army Veteran.
He loved watching things grow and loved gardening. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his grandson, Caleb Stockton.
Survivors include his wife, Lou Owens, whom he married February 19, 1960; one daughter, Jan Stockton and husband Robert of Heber Springs; one son, John Cody Owens of Heber Springs; grandson, Caleb Stockton and a host of friends.
Pallbearers are Jim Ogle, Tim Sullens, Randy Grubbs, Brent Patchell, Ricky Ringer and Joe Coots. Honorary pallbearer is Larry Cordell.
Visitation was held 12:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the funeral service Monday, October 25, 2010 at First Assembly of God Church in Heber Springs. Services were held Monday, October 25, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the church with Brother Lee Brown officiating.
