Wilber “Will” Forsythe 71, passed away at his home at Cove Creek Road, Quitman, AR on November 7, 2009. He was born September 30, 1938 to Elva Forsythe in Texas and raised in Oklahoma City, OK. He was retired from the Air Force after twenty-three years of service, and also retired from Skill Corporation after fifteen years. He enjoyed flying his Piper airplane, which he flew on his birthday September 30 of this year. Everyone that met Will became a friend to him. He loved life and always had a smile and a hug for everyone. He was happy every day and uplifted so many people. In the six and a half years he lived with cancer, he never complained. He was truly a great man. He and Ellie had a wonderful life together, and traveled together to many states. He will be missed by all his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Ellie Forsythe of Quitman, two children, Lorena Roberts and husband Mike of Rogers, AR, Wilber Forsythe Jr. of Heber Springs, AR, one grandson Matthew of Rogers, AR, three step-children Vicki Allbritton and husband Russ of Jacksonville, AR, Jerry Ivey and wife Angel of Jacksonville, AR, Carla Ivey of Heber Springs, AR, four grandchildren, Shana Wilson and husband Dwayne of Maumelle, AR, Spencer Ivey, Jennifer Ivey, Travis Ivey all of Jacksonville, AR, two great-grand children, Cayle and Alaya Wilson of Maumelle, AR, one brother Ronald Forsythe of Charleston, South Carolina, one sister Bessie Reese of Oklahoma City, OK, one brother-in-law, Ted Jones of Sanniquan, Utah, the Baldridge family in Kentucky and Jennie Fortune of Brandon, Mississippi.
He was preceded in death by his mother Elva Forsythe, and one sister Donetta Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Heber Springs Funeral Home in Heber Springs, AR. Will wanted to do something for the Chemo room where he spent six years of his life.
