Violet Jane Bray, age 86 passed away April 28, 2010 at Baptist Medical Center in Heber Springs. She was born May 27, 1923 in Rose Bud, Arkansas to William Gurley and Edna Webb Weeks. She was a Homemaker and a member of the Howard General Baptist Church. Her hobbies included sewing, giving piano lessons, flowers and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Rudolph Bray of Heber Springs, AR; one son, Gary Bray and wife Lea of Heber Springs; two daughters, Barbara Horton and husband Cecil of Heber Springs and Jeanell Allen and husband Don of Little Rock, AR; one brother, Glen Weeks of Rose Bud , AR; one sister, Lavenial Bedsaul of Kansas City; six grandchildren, Darlene Thomas, Danny Horton, Gena Jones, Ron Bowen, Dwayne Bowen, Jasan Bray and eight great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wendal Weeks and Hoyd Weeks; one sister, Marie De Mell.
A visitation will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Heber Springs Funeral Home in Heber Springs, Arkansas. A funeral will be held Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Howard General Baptist Church. All arrangements are under the direction of Heber Springs Funeral Home.
