'Tommy Edward Smith

Tommy Edward Smith, age 52, of Prim, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2009, at Sringhill Baptist Medical Center in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was surrounded by many family members and friends. Tommy was born on August 1, 1957, in Heber Springs to Oscar and Norene Smith.

Tommy married Sandy Gardner on June 30, 1984. His family was made complete with two loving sons, Drew Edward and Jordan Gardner Smith.

Tommy was a West Side High School graduate in Greers Ferry, Arkansas. He earned his bachelors degree at UCA and earned his law degree at UALR in 1985. Tommy practiced law in Heber Springs, Arkansas and served as deputy prosecutor for many years for Cleburne County.

Tommy’s kindred spirit and helpful heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his brother, John Earl Smith, grandparents, J.E. and Ila Smith and Earl and Virgie Hewitt.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy of Prim, AR; two sons, Drew of Conway and Jordan of Prim; parents, Oscar and Norene of Prim; in-laws, Greene and Bonnie Gardner; three sisters, Marilynn Mathews of Alexander, AR, Janelle Knew (Randy) of Heber Springs, AR, Jamie Wilcox (Wayne) of Greenbrier, AR; one brother, Jeffery Smith (Renee) of Prim, AR; five nieces, Kristie, Jessie, Alyssa, Mandy, and Mallory and two nephews, Brandon and Brett.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 18, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sunny Slope General Baptist Church. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 19, 2009, at the Hilltop Holiness Church new sanctuary on Hwy 225 in Prim, Arkansas with Brother Darvin Carlton and Brother Dwight Decker officiating. Burial will be at Sunny Slope Cemetery .
