Roy Elmer Sewell, age 66, of Greers Ferry passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Born January 6, 1943, in Dewitt, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Billie June Rowland and Roy Strange Sewell. He was raised in Hunter, Arkansas by his grandmother, Mary Fleattie Sewell. Mr. Sewell was a member of the Cowboy Church in Heber Springs. He loved wood working, fishing, raising calves and dearly loved helping people. He was known as papa to many children in the Greers Ferry area and well loved and respected by many , many people in Cleburne County. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Fulbright Sewell, whom he married April 21, 1979 and renewed their marriage vows in April; two daughters, Vanessa Wire of Searcy, AR and Regina Swint of Rosebud, AR; one son, Jacob Sewell of Greers Ferry, AR; two brothers, Bud of Searcy, AR and Ronnie of Bagdad, AZ; one sister, Joyce of Tucson, AZ ; four grandchildren, Beau, Tawny, Tyler and Dustin and a host of friends. A Memorial Service will be 6:00 pm, Monday, October 26, 2009 at Westside Baptist Church in Greers Ferry with Bro.Van Harness officiating. Arrangements are by Heber Springs Funeral Home.
