Roxie Goodwin, age 88, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009 in Heber Springs. Roxie was born September 30, 1920 in Lonoke County, Arkansas to the late Carroll and Laura Lankford Alberson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Goodwin.
Survivors include son, Richard Goodwin of North Little Rock; three daughters, Oneta (Bill) Williams of Heber Springs, Wanda (Ron) Diehl of Schaumburg, IL, and Charlotte (Bob) Willis of St Joseph, MO; brother, James Alberson of Maumelle; sisters Joy Braden of Heber Springs, and Ruth Fenton of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 3, 2009 at Tumbling Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Derek Westmoreland officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the Heber Springs Funeral Home, 1199 Wilburn Road, Heber Springs (501-887-9152).
