Robert Lee Curtis, age 91, of Searcy, Arkansas passed away October 6, 2011 at White County Medical Center. Born July 27, 1920 in McCrory, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Lewie Houston Curtis and Robert A. Curtis. He was a retired farmer, US Army Veteran and a member of the Searcy Faith Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Curtis grew up in Woodruff County and graduated from Cotton Plant High School where he played football and basketball. He farmed in Woodruff County in the Pumpkin Bend Community for many years. He served on the McCrory School Board while his children were in school at McCrory. He was a good man and dearly loved his family. His main hobby was fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardis Muriel Daniel Curtis; one sister, Grace Virginia Wiggins and an infant grandson, Little Brad Curtis. Survivors include a daughter,Janiece Bland and husband Lester of Bella Vista, AR; five sons, Aundrae Curtis and wife Glenys of Springfield, MO, Larry Curtis and wife Margie of Clarendon, AR, Bobby Curtis and wife Hazel of Excelsior Springs, MO, Bradley Curtis and wife Reba of Paris, AR and Timothy Curtis and wife Saudia of Searcy, AR; one brother, Charles Curtis of South Haven, MS; three sisters, Opal Shue of McCrory, AR, Lewie Bell Fowler of Weldon, AR and Pat Sugg of Little Rock, AR; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and many, many friends.
The family will receive friends 9:30 am, Monday, October 10, 2011 to service time at 11:00 am at the Faith Assembly of God Church in Searcy, Arkansas. Interment will follow in Faith Assembly of God Cemetery on the church grounds.
