Rayford Franklin Schmid, age 77, passed away December 25, 2010 at his home in Greers Ferry, Arkansas. He was born July 16, 1933 in Aubrey, Arkansas to George and Carrie Schmid. He was a veteran of the United States Marines, having served in Korea, and worked in law enforcement for most of his life. He loved playing music, woodworking, tinkering, gardening, and was an avid outdoorsman, spending a lot of time camping, fishing, and hunting. He is survived by four children, Rayford Schmid, Jr. of Topeka, Kansas, Michael Schmid of Ramona, California, Lori Schmid of Winchester, California, and Martin Schmid of San Diego, California; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Rose Lee Parks, Helen Johnson, and Christine Hayes, all of Greers Ferry, Arkansas; and his dog, Railroad.
