Plemon Loren “P.L” Long, 84 of Heber Springs passed away December 3, 2009 in the Pine Snag Community. He was born November 6, 1925 in Keota, OK to Hershel and Thelma Long.
He was a veteran serving in the Navy during World War II. He was also retired from the U.S postal service after 25 years. He was also a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife Violet Ramsey Long of 63 years, one son Jeff Long and wife Cherie of Woodlands, TX, one daughter Ronda and husband Kenny Gann of Heber Springs, three brothers Dewey Long of Heber Springs, Rosco Long of Pine Snag, AR, and Leo Long of Wilburn, AR, Five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Thelma Long, one brother Deward Long, one infant brother Hershel Long Jr.
Visitation will be held Friday December 4, 2009 from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at the Heber Springs Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday December 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pine Street Church Of Christ. Internment will follow at the Magness Cemetery in Wilburn, AR.
