William Wayne Harper, SR.

William Wayne “Bill” Harper was born on August 14, 1943 in DeSoto, Missouri  and entered eternal rest on August 21, 2017 at home in Greers Ferry, Arkansas.

                He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 56 years, Michele “Mickey” Harper, two wonderful sons, William Wayne “Bill” Harper Jr. (Debbie) and Bruce Allen Harper (Norma); five grandchildren, Cody Harper (Ashley), Tiffany Harper, Wesley Harper, Claira Harper DeLoach (Travis), and Courtney Morrow (Stephen); and four great grandchildren, Amelia Harper and Mason, Riley, and Cole Morrow. He also leaves behind siblings, Shelby Jean Shelly (Dale), Robert “Bob” Harper, Donna Nickelson (Bill), Paul Harper (Janice), and Richard David Harper (Ruth), and a host of many nieces, nephews, and friends that are considered family.

                He is preceded in death by his parents, Otis Willis and Lorene Pearl Harper.

                Bill served in the Army until 1969. After fulfilling his duty, he became a carpenter. After building many homes, most of which were built with his son Bruce, he officially retired in 2005. During his retirement, he fulfilled his life-long dream of spending his days fishing and being surrounded by family and those he loved most.  Bill lived a long life full of love and happiness and was rarely seen without a smile on his face.  He instilled his values into his children and grandchildren and will continue to have influence in their lives. He will be missed by all who knew him.
