Thomas Hugh Hawkins

Thomas Hugh “Grandpa Tom” Hawkins  age 80 of Drasco died peacefully surrounded by his family on April 16, 2017 at his residence. Born November 9, 1936 in Danville, Illinois he was the son of the late Bud and Helen Guthrie Hawkins. He was a US Army Veteran.

Tom graduated form Millikin University in Illinois and worked in Real Estate as a salesman.

He loved  fishing, watching his grandkids play sports,  doing for others, and dearly loved his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Lura Jane Myers Hawkins whom he married March 23, 1981; three sons, Judson Avey (Sharon) of Mayflower, AR, Jay Avey of Conway, AR and Bret Benton (Tonya) of Drasco, AR; two daughters, Sara Ungari (Dave) of Chicago, Ill and Lura Griffin (Dustin) of Austin, TX; one brother Jim Hawkins (Barbara) of Indiana; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many friends.

Arrangements are by Heber Springs Funeral Home, 501-887-9152. At Tom’s request there will be no services.
