Nelda Jean Young

Nelda Jean Liles Young, age 83, of Heber Springs passed away March 31, 2017 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born November 13, 1933 in Drasco, Arkansas she was the daughter of the late L.H. and Edna Gould Liles. Nelda was a bookkeeper at Industrial Equipment Company for many years and a member of Mountain View General Baptist Church.

She loved her church, loved to shop especially for bargains, loved playing cards and dominoes and growing vegetables in her garden.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bernell Liles and one sister, Bernice Kever.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Dewey Young of Heber Springs; one son, Kerry Smith and wife Carol of Mountain View; two nieces, Diane Webster and Onine Philimelee; one nephew, Tommy Liles and many friends.

Visitation hours will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Heber Springs Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Macedonia General Baptist Church near Drasco, Arkansas with Rev. Kerry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Macdonia Cemetery.
