Girtie Curbo

     Girtie Frances Curbo age 82 of McCrory went to be with the Lord September 8, 2016 at her residence.  Born July 29, 1934 in Pumpkin Bend Community near McCrory she was the daughter of the late Neal and Florence Huddleston Ball. Girtie owned her own café business in McCrory for twenty seven years. She was an active member of McCrory First Assembly of God Church and participated in singing on the praise team.

     She loved working in her yard and taking care of flowers, shopping, cooking big dinners for her family and friends. The family stated she loved Christmas and Thanksgiving cooking for everyone. She loved reading the Bible and helping people.

     In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Curbo; one sister, Gladys Robinson; four brothers, Shelby, Barney, Ludie and Newman Ball.

     Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Martin and Debbie McNew both of McCrory and Pam Barnum (Cary) of Heber Springs; one son, William (Jan) Stevens of Rowher, AR; eleven grandchildren and twenty five great-grandchildren and many friends.
