Emery "Vess" Vestal Hays

Emery Vestal Hays, 85, of Hiram, Arkansas passed from this life on January 3, 2018. He was known by his family and friends simply as Vess. Vess was born on January 23, 1932.

Vess proudly served in the US Army 1952-1954 tour of duty in Japan. He retired from General Motors after thirty years and returned to his roots, his home in Hiram, which he loved. Vess was the youngest child of Annie B “Nee” Lowery Hays and James Hays.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Argus Sheaver, Virgil, Marshal Ardill “Pete”, Elmer Dean, William Elihue “Pug”, and James Hebert; his sisters: Cordie Irene, Rita Elmira, and OraLee.

Vess is survived by his two daughters and their spouses: Cynthia and James Clancy and Gay and Vic Catalano; three grandchildren: Dominic Cipriano, Sarah Midkiff, and Katelyn Clancy; and two great-grandchildren: Brigid and Malcolm.
