Chester Calvin Daniel

Chester Calvin “C.C.” Daniel, age 76, entered the gates of Heaven on December 15, 2017.

Born in Heber Springs on October 17, 1941. He was the son of the late Jessie Ewing Daniel and Pauline Choate Daniel.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Thomason Daniel of Heber Springs; his daughter, Denise Daniel (Gerry) Smith; three granddaughters: Merritt Goodson, Allison Goodson and Maggie Smith all of Benton, AR; and stepson, Andrew (Christy) Hewlett of Norman, OK. He is also survived by several cousins.

Chet graduated from Texarkana High School (AR) in 1959. He then served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Alaska. He attended the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences after his service in the Air Force, and he graduated in 1971 with a degree in Pharmacy.

He worked for Medic Pharmacy in Bryant, AR from 1971-1976. He then went on to work at the VA Medical Center in Little Rock and in North Little Rock until his retirement in 2001.

He had a passion for nature and spent as much time as possible on backpacking excursions with his friends in Arkansas and various locations throughout the United States.

He was a benevolent soul to his family, friends, coworkers and strangers in need. He never spoke ill of anyone. He was the crypt-o-quote master. He had a wicked sense of humor with an infectious laugh. He loved to cook and most importantly share a meal with a friend or family member. He was patient.

 He was an honorable man who will deeply be missed. We look forward to the day we can once again see his smiling face and loving arms.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date and an announcement will be made.
