Mary Susan Parker, age 100, of Heber Springs, AR passed away on November 28, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie F. and Bertha Brown of Cassville, MO, her beloved husband, Robert L. Parker, son, Thomas F. Parker, brothers, Scott and Merton Brown and sister, Ruth Tyer of Pocahontas, AR. Mary Susan is survived by her beloved children, James Parker and wife Josephina of El Paso, Texas, Victoria Parrill of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Mary Sue Scott and husband Ron of Heber Springs, Arkansas, ten grandchildren, and 10 great- grandchildren.
Mary Susan was a member of St. Albert Catholic Church in Heber Springs. She was a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas (ASTC) and Arizona State University where she taught for some 25 years before retiring. She was active in various Senior Organizations while living in Arizona and loved to travel. Mary Susan also was a writer of poetry, children’s books and frequently letters to the editor on topics that interested her.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Albert Catholic Church, 21 Park Road, Heber Springs, Arkansas on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Pocahontas, AR at 2:00 p.m. Please sign online guestbook at www.heberspringsfuneralhome.com.
