John James Heier Jr. age, 53 passed away September 14, 2010 in Bald Knob, Arkansas. He was born March 20, 1957 in Flint, Michigan to John and Jean Heier. John was a Major and Chief of Security at the Grimes unit in Newport, Arkansas. He has been with the Arkansas Department of Corrections for 24 years. He was also a member of the Arkanasas Peace Officers Association, and a member of the Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Calico Rock, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife Janie Heier of the home; one son, Joseph Heier and wife Danielle; three daughters, Ileene Soucy and husband Chuck, Gena Goggans and husband Jackie, Sheila Heier and husband Brian; his Mother, Jean Davis and Step-father Ronnie Davis; two brothers, Brian Heier and Steve Heier; four sisters, Sherry Heier, Cathy Burgess, Diane Heier, Karolyn Blasingame;
ten grandchildren, and three great-granchildren, and many, many friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Ruby Hoak Heier and John and Lara Ross McGathy; his father ,John Heier Sr. and one brother, Joseph Heier.
A visitation was held Friday, September 17, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Glad Tidings Baptist Church in Pangburn, Arkansas. Funeral Services were held Saturday September 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Glad Tidings Baptist Church in Pangburn, Arkansas.
