Genevieve Lauretta Tribell Bishop, 78, of Higden, Arkansas, passed away Friday October 14th. Born in Washington, D.C., February 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late 1st Sgt. George Willliam Tribell, US Army(Ret.) and Martha Kay (Whitehead) Tribell. She came to Arkansas with her family in 1940, and graduated from North Little Rock High School in the class of 1952. She married the love of her life, Frank Louis Bishop in June 1953. She worked at National Old Line Insurance Company in Little Rock, and later was proprietor of Frank’s store at Higden, Arkansas.

She loved camping, fishing, square dancing and working in her garden as well as cooking. For many years, she and her husband put on a magnificent Christmas light display open to all visitors; she loved sharing the spirit of Christmas with all passersby.

Lauretta was preceded in death by her parents and brothers George William Tribell, Jr., and Lusish Donald Tribell and sisters-in-law Judith Tribell and Betty Tribell.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Frank L. Bishop, former postmaster of Higden, sister June Tarkington of North Little Rock, brother Ron Tribell of Quitman, nephews Larry Tarkington, Wyatt Tribell, Todd Tribell, Kelly Tribell and J.P. Tribell, and nieces Andrea Sandage and Georgia Ward, seven grandnephews, and six grandnieces, and one great grandnephew and two great grandnieces.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 on Monday October 17, 2011 at the Higden MacLehaney Cemetery in Higden, Arkansas with Pastor J.R. Manes officiating. The pallbearers will be Larry Tarkington, Wyatt Tribell, J.P. Tribell, Ralph Sandage, Andrew Sandage and Michael Todd. Ron Tribell, Earl Tarkington and J.D. Todd are honorary pallbearers. The family will be receiving friends at 4879 Edgemont Rd, Quitman, Arkansas after the funeral.
