Franklin “Dene” Miller, age 75, of Benton, formerly of Cleburne County, passed away Monday, November 12, 2007. He was born March 2, 1932, the son of the late Cordie Bell Cagie Miller and Edward Dale Miller. He had worked for the RCA Company in Indiana and also worked in farming several years. He was of the Baptist faith. Franklin attended school as a young person in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas. His hobbies were included mechanic work, hunting and fishing. He is survived by the mother of his children, Thella Miller of Ida; two sons, Ronnie Miller and wife Vickie of Prim, Arkansas and James Miller of Ida, Arkansas; one daughter, Carol King and husband Johnny of Hopewell, Arkansas; one brother, Herbert Miller of Wilburn, Arkansas; three sisters, Mina Sartain of Ida, Arkansas, Aliene Hicks of Rose Bud, Arkansas and Irene Newman of Wilburn, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Shauna Miller Johnson and husband Brian and Kelly King; three great-grandchildren, Lane Johnson, Audrey Johnson and Graice Johnson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorene Chapman and Helen Kearms; two brothers, L. E. Miller and Fred Miller. Pallbearers are Eugene Miller, David Miller, Arnold Miller, Tom Freeman, Walter Hicks, Herbert Miller and Robert Dale Newman.
Visitation hours will be Wednesday, November 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 15, at the funeral home with Rev. Odell Altom officiating. Interment will follow in Miller Cemetery near Ida, Arkansas.
