Frank Benjamin Bufford, age 77, of Judsonia, Arkansas passed away August 31, 2011 at Baptist Health Center in Little Rock. Born June 3, 1934 in Judsonia, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Effie Skinner Bufford and Walter Bufford. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Bufford was a self-employed casket manufacturer. He personally hand-made high end top of the line caskets for some thirty years. He built the casket for President John F. Kennedy and also made the casket for the second-in-command of the Colombo Family in New York. He enjoyed design and tool work.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Merline Johnson Bufford of Judsonia, Arkansas whom he married in 1954; one son, Darrell Bufford of Heber Springs, Arkansas; one brother, Dean Bufford and wife Ruby of Tennessee; one sister, Beatrice Dill of Little Rock, Arkansas; one grandchild, Tammie and two great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Elizabeth and a host of friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela K. Arper and four brothers, Harvey, Leroy, George and W. E. Bufford.
Visitation hours will be Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the funeral home with Bro. Roger Daughtery officiating. Interment will follow in Gateway Cemetery near Providence, Arkansas.
