Claudie Louis Seay, age 69, passed away August 8, 2011 in Batesville, Arkansas. He was born on July 4, 1942 in Mangrum, Arkansas. Claudie was one of fifteen children born to the late Willie and Thelma Norman Seay.

Claudie is survived by his son, Chris Alexander Seay; four daughters, Teresa Mignon Seay Dunn, Letisha Marie Seay Boyd, Sarah Rene Seay Byrd, and Rebecca Michelle Seay; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Josey, Kassie Ramos, Dylan Boyd, Dyann Boyd, Trenton Seay, Mickey and Michael Reed; and four great grandchildren; six brothers, Odas, Roy, Robert, Danny, Raymond, and Ronald Seay; and six sisters, Marge Murray, Tilda O’Neal, Anna Lewis, Nancy Gammill, Betty Foster, and Sheila Mullins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him.

Claudie was a welder for Brown and Root in Baytown, Texas until his retirement when he moved back to Arkansas to be closer to his family. He settled down in Newark, Arkansas, built himself a wood working shop and spent many happy hours “making sawdust.” Claudie loved his family, loved the outdoors, and loved to “kid” those he loved. He will be deeply missed.

He served several years in the Army National Guard. Claudie’s cremains will be interred in Kyler Cemetery near Batesville, with military honors, in the plot next to his parents, Willie and Thelma Seay. A date for the graveside service will announced as soon as arrangements can be made.
