Bettye Ann Talburt

 

Bettye Clark Talburt affectionately known as “Mimi” passed away Monday, December 3, 2007. She was born September 26, 1933, in Cardwell, Missouri, to William R. and Esther Orlean Hardin Clark. She was a resident of Heber Springs for 36 years. She was of the Baptist faith. Bettye was a former secretary for Heber Springs Realty and a receptionist for Aromatique. She served two terms on the Heber Springs City Council. She was a former president of the Jaycettes and a Sunday school teacher. She and her husband were also partners in a real estate business.

Bettye is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gene (Everett Eugene) Talburt; two daughters, Jeannie Kowis of Heber Springs, and Jennie Smith and husband, Melvin, of Batesville; three grandchildren, Laura Kowis Crisel and husband, Brandon, of Jonesboro, Matthew Smith and wife, Shalee, of Batesville, and Haley Smith of Batesville, and fiancée James Bradford; one great-grandchild, Charlee Lynn Smith; her mother, Esther Orlean Clark of Mountain Home; sister, Patricia Whitfield of Mountain Home; a brother, James Clark of Baxter Springs, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bettye was preceded in death by her father, William R. Clark and a brother William R. Clark, Jr.

Visitation hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at Heber Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside Services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 6, 2007, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville. Arrangements are by Heber Springs Funeral Home, 501-887-9152.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity or organization of your choice.
