Alvin Ray Carlton, age 78, of Prim, Arkansas, passed away June 18, 2010 in Conway, Arkansas. Born April 10, 1932, in Prim, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Ila Hipp Carlton and Arthur Carlton. He was a farmer and also worked for Olivette Supply, a sawmill business, where he retired. He was a member of Oak Grove Church. Alvin enjoyed his family, hard work, crappie fishing and raising cattle. He is survived by his wife, Lola Marie (Birdsong) Carlton of Prim, AR; three sons, Glenn Carlton and wife Dianne of Edgemont, AR, Darvin Carlton and wife Vicky of Greers Ferry, AR and Kevin Carlton and wife Sandy of Pangburn, AR ; two daughters, Michelle Stubbs and husband Delwin of Lowell, AR and Leah Smith of Heber Springs, AR; four brothers, Austin Carlton and wife Ruth of Prim, Johnny Carlton and wife Joyce of Prim, AR, Jerry Carlton and wife Verna of Springdale, AR and Tony Carlton and wife Delma of Woodrow, AR; one sister, Ernestine Stubbs of Woodrow, AR; thirteen grandchildren, Daymon Carlton and wife Stacey, Diandra Carlton and husband Jim, Briggs Carlton and wife Bridgett, Adam Carlton and wife Sara, Randi Mason and husband Shane, Ross Carlton, Jon Wright, Calah Wright, Noah Stubbs, Samuel Stubbs, Judson Smith, Alaina Smith and Molly Smith; two great-grandchildren, Ella Grace Carlton and Ava Kaye Mason; and a host of friends. Besides his parents Alvin was preceded in death by two brothers, Haskel Carlton and Vernon Carlton and a grandson, Bennett Smith. The family will receive friends at Hilltop Holiness Church in Prim, AR from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, June 20, 2010. Service will be at the church at 10:00 am, Monday, June 21, 2010 with Brother Dennis Knapp, Brother Anthony Woods and Brother Darvin Carlton officiating. Interment will follow in Everette Cemetery.
