Altha Towell Baswell, age 95, passed away August 11, 2010 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born February 5, 1915 in Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas to Ed and Artie Towell. She was a housewife and a store clerk, employed by Wetzel Stark at Stark’s Grocery for twenty years, she enjoyed gardening, and doing needlework, she also enjoyed having lunch with friends at the Senior Center. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Raye Baswell Jacobson and husband Jake of Heber Springs, Arkansas; one brother, Louis Towell of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one sister, Opal Burnett Womack of Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Baswell; one sister, Kathryn Hill; three brothers, Forrest Towell, Norman Towell, and Kenneth Towell.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday August 18, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Heber Springs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers make donations to Arkansas Hospice, the Heber Springs Humane Society, or the Waychoff Senior Center .
